UKFast gets Five Stars, donating £10,000
Article date: Tue, 27 May 2008 17:50:32 GMTDirectors of the award winning dedicated hosting provider, UKFast, donated £10,000 to the Five Stars Scanner Appeal established to raise £1m for a new MRI scanner for The New Manchester Children's Hospital. The scanner will help children from Carlisle to Crewe and cut the time of a standard scan from 45 minutes to 15 minutes, making it far less distressing for children.
Husband and wife, Lawrence and Gail Jones, who founded UKFast in 1999, attended the Ryan Giggs and Max Beesley Golf Day on the 26th May.
The star studded event at the De Vere Belfry hotel at Wishaw, included celebrity guests, Wayne Rooney, Emma Bunton, Gordon Ramsey and his wife Tana.
The UKFast pair, attending as guests of Derek Hatton, really came into their own during the auction. With stiff competition they had to outbid both chef Ramsey and Spice Girl Emma in the contest for a pair of signed Mohammed Ali boxing shorts.
For Ramsey and Bunton it was a case of not quite keeping up with the Joneses!
Ali's shorts will now take pride of place in UKFast's recreational facilities in order to inspire the growing workforce. Sport has always been an inspiration to the company's leaders who encourage athleticism to promote team mentality and a healthy work ethic.
The Joneses also bid on and brought home a selection of golfing memorabilia.
